I worked with the founders from whitebalance for over two years — first supporting them through creating prototypes and communication design support during the pitching phase, to working with their engineers to create an intuitive platform after they received their seed funding.

Pre-seed: Initial product prototyping
The initial product was an app that helps content creators and filmers produce high quality content. I brainstormed with the founders and created mockups to explore what an intuitive end-to-end user experience could look like.

Searching for a market fit
While at Techstars accelerator, the founders found a potential market fit in content creation for professional sports teams. The product evolved into an audio tool that uses AI to identify and remove audio that has copyright issues.
Given limited engineering capacity, I worked with the founder and CTO to build a MVP app using Retool. I navigated the limitations of Retool and provided suggestions to improve the user experience for a unfamiliar audio refinement process.

The product evolved into having two offerings: one for pre-publishing and one for post-publishing detection.
Considering most users are marketing coordinators on sports teams, I workshopped with machine learning engineers on the team to ideate on the types of information to display in order to build trust and facilitate users’ workflow. I also designed a filter feature for users to quickly parse through all uploaded content in order to act on them in a timely manner.
